Introduction
For the tariff design variant of the type "linear price", the price is calculated linearly or proportionally to the actual parking time. For this tariff design, both the price per hour and the distribution step in minutes must be set. To ensure that the parking fees do not exceed the upper limit that may have been set, the web app offers the user the option of setting a maximum price per day. With this tariff structure, every started step is charged in full.
Example #1:
To illustrate the linear price type (without maximum price), let us take the following example:
•The price per hour is CHF 6.00.
•The distribution step is 10 minutes. The hourly amount of 6 francs is divided into 10-minute steps of 1 franc each..
•No maximum price has been defined
•A parker uses the parking space twice a day:
from 06:00 to 08:37
from 10:00 to 15:28

from 10:00 to 15:28

The parking costs for the day in question amount to CHF 40.00. Since the actual parking costs of actually CHF 49 exceed the maximum price, the price cap is activated by the defined maximum price.
