Automatic parking

Introduction

The AV.Park web app offers the user automatic parking. This system makes it possible to set standard parking times (entry and exit time) for regular parker of the car park with a fixed parking duration. The user can define on which days of the week the automatic parking system should be valid. With this system, the parker is entitled to use the car park from the predefined entry time and to leave it at the latest at the predefined exit time. It is important to emphasize that both the entry and exit times take into account a parking tolerance time in predefined minutes for convenience reasons. If the parker uses the parking space outside the days or times set for the automatic parking system and the parking attendant detects this during one of his patrols, a fine or penalty may be imposed.

If the parker is going on holiday, for example, he can deactivate the automatic parking system before he leaves and reactivate it on the day he returns.

The use of the automatic parking system is usually only useful in car parks that do not have a barrier or time recording at the entrance or exit.

Example:

To illustrate the automatic parking system, let's take the following example:

The car park has a permitted parking time window from 04:00 in the morning to 22:00 in the evening.

The parker has automatic parking for the respective day from 08:00 in the morning to 16:00 in the evening.

The parking tolerance time is 15 minutes.

An example is shown below:

The following rules can be derived from the diagram shown above:

The minimum start time for parking is 07:45. That is, the start time of the defined automatic parking minus the parking tolerance time.

The maximum end time for parking is 16:15. This means the end time of the defined automatic parking plus the parking tolerance time.

If a parker parks his car between 04:00 and 07:44 in the morning or does not leave the car park before 16:15, he may be fined for parking. This also applies to parking between 22:00 and 04:00 (time window for unauthorized parking).

If the parker parks his car from 07:45 in the morning at the earliest and leaves the car park by 16:15 in the afternoon at the latest, he will not be fined.
